Heidi Schubert, RYT-200, BLA
I am an RYT-200, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow teacher teaching in the north county area of San Diego. I discovered my passion for yoga and fitness while attending college at California Polytechnic State University in Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, looking for new ways to stay healthy and fit. My practice began in 2005, and after graduating with my degree in Landscape Architecture I decided to follow my growing passion and attend a yoga teacher training. What happened during this time changed my life forever, and it ended up re-igniting my spiritual fire for yoga in a deeper way than I had expected.
I completed my 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification at the Shakti Spirit Yoga School in Ubud, Bali. It was here that I found my absolute love of teaching, and chose to make yoga my new career path (to my parents disbelief 😉 ). In July of 2011, after some time teaching, my practice as well as my heart were drawn to ashtanga yoga and I completed a primary series, 100 hour teacher training with my teacher Tim Miller at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Carlsbad, CA. Both of these trainings helped me develop my style consisting of dynamic asana sequences connecting the principles of movement with the breath, creating not only a strong physical but also spiritual practice. I like to guide my classes with the principle that through beautifully choreographed vinyasa (or ashtanga) flow sequences, yoga becomes more then just your physical asana practice because it is light, free and fun. She hopes to help people connect more deeply with themselves, physically and spiritually, through the joy in their own yoga practice.
I would like to thank my teacher, Tim Miller, for his continuous guidance, open heart, and encouragement, which helps me to be a better teacher and yogi everyday.
