Heidi in Embryo in the Womb

My name is Heidi Schubert and I was born and raised in San Diego, California. My passions in life are yoga, snowboarding, surfing, and traveling.  In 2010 I spent 2 and a half months living in Bali, completing my 200-Hour yoga teacher training in Ubud and traveling the “Island of the Gods.” This eye opening experience set me on the path of my current career teaching yoga in San Diego.  I returned to Bali in 2011, assisting the Shakti Spirit teacher training for 6-weeks.  To learn more about my path in yoga visit the “bio” or “yoga experience” pages above.

In March of 2010 I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s Degree in landscape architecture and minor in sustainable environmental design.  Although I am not currently pursuing this career path, I am grateful for the environmental awareness I have gained thorough my education.  I strongly believe that we take our planet and all of her resources for granted, and hope that we can come together and begin to respect and live in harmony with mother nature.

Heidi and Jason practicing yoga

My holistic approach to life acknowledges the need for well-balanced lifestyle.  I spend my days practicing yoga, doing various cardio activities, and enjoying many of life’s pleasures.  One of these is my great love of food and wine, which I credit to the 5 years spent living on the Central Coast of California.  That being said, I still believe in a healthy lifestyle consisting of whole, organic, non-processed foods.  My ultimate goal is longevity in life, body and soul.

Speaking of souls, I recently celebrated my 3 year anniversary with my “soul-mate” Jason.  We have spent our time together traveling, learning, and enjoying everything that life throws at us.  He is my best friend and love of my life, and I am so excited to see where life takes us next.  Jason is planning on doing a yoga teacher training in the near future, and I cant wait to teach classes and retreats with him!

Staying Committed to Your Practice

Is Yoga the Perfect Workout?

Yoga has emerged in Western culture as a workout solution to maintain a lean, flexible and strong body. We get a lot of flack in the west for taking only the physical (asana) part of yoga practice as being all that yoga has to offer, where many people (east and west) would say that this . . . → Read More: Is Yoga the Perfect Workout?
